Troops and Lone Star Girl Scouts have an opportunity to Adopt A Nursing Home in their local community. Each troop and girl will make a commitment to visit this nursing home on a regular basis throughout the coming year. Troops and girls can plan activities of their choosing to share with the residents. Activities could include reading with the residents, making a craft, sharing stories, singing songs, gentle exercises or just sharing your smile. It doesn’t matter how long you visit and the frequency of the visits is up to each troop and girl to decide. What counts the most is that both the girls and the nursing home residents enjoy their time together.

What do we need to do? Glad you asked!
1) Click here to find a list of participating nursing homes in Circle T. The facilities are listed by county and ZIP code.
2) Select the facility you would like to adopt and send an email to smehta@circletgsc.org with the following information:
- Troop number, age-level, and number of girls registered
- Leader contact information (phone, email)
Then what? You will receive an Adoption Kit from Circle T. This kit will contain ideas for service projects, Adopt A Nursing Home patch requirements, and official adoption papers.
