Girl University is a one-day conference for girls in 8th through 12th grades and their parents, designed to help you get an early start planning for life after high school. It is an opportunity for you and your parents to come together with professionals to find answers in a fun and informative way.

Girl University is designed to provide encouragement and education to help you make good decisions so that, as a woman, you can have a better quality of life and more career choices.

Students and parents should plan to arrive at University Center at UT Arlington between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. for packet pick-up.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Dr. Diane Patrick serves as State Representative for House District 94, which covers central and western Arlington in Tarrant County and currently teaches at Texas Christian University.

Dr. Patrick currently sits on the Public Education Committee, Higher Education Committee, and the Local and Consent Calendars Committee for the House of Representatives. She has long played a leadership role in numerous educational organizations and has been recognized for her dedication to excellence in education.

Dr. Patrick has also been a Girl Scout.

Preparing Her for College

Are you worried about the responsibilities and freedoms your child is about to take on? Before she leaves for school, prepare her with an organized approach to information and topics she will need to know. Topics range from making copies of important documents, medical history, campus resources, etc. Learn what steps you can take to help her “be prepared” and help her grow as an adult.

Testing Out GU35
Advanced Placement tests and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program exams are ways to earn college credit in high school and reduce time to graduation. What if your daughter did not take AP and IB in high school? Go over testing options, learn what to look for, and find out when it is better to take the class.
