Reserve Rangers seeking volunteers

Girl Scouts - Circle T Council, Inc. is initiating a Reserve Ranger Corps in 2007 as a way to extend its staff/volunteer partnership structure to the camp environment.
Qualified, trained adult volunteers will spend a weekend at a Circle T camp of their choice, assisting the Site Manager with troop/event check-in, check-out, routine service requests, answering campers’ questions, and acting as the steward of the Council’s property.

The following attributes are necessary in a Reserve Ranger:

  • Knowledge of and willingness to adhere to practices and procedures in Circle T camps;
  • Familiarity with and understanding of SafetyWise and Council policies and operational procedures that apply to the camp environment;
  • Personal commitment to ensuring the safety of adults and girls using camp facilities;
  • Friendly, caring attitude toward campers and camp event participants, volunteers, fellow Reserve Rangers, and Council staff. A Reserve Ranger has a high profile in the Council and is regarded as a person of authority. With this profile comes great responsibility to be a good role model for the adults and girls using camp facilities. The attitude and demeanor of a Reserve Ranger can have a lasting impact - positive or negative - on a person’s camping experience.
  • Reserve Rangers are volunteers and as such, do not receive a salary.

Registered adult Girl Scouts age 21 years and older who are interested in becoming a Reserve Ranger should contact Ed Woodlock for an application, 817-735-5335 or 800-582-7272 ext 413 or ewoodlock@circletgsc.org.
